St Paul’s Collegiate School offers badminton as a summer and winter sport option. Students from all year levels and of all athletic ability are invited to join the badminton programme.
Schedule
Social badminton is played in the gym during Term 1 (from 3.45 pm to 5:00 pm) for both boys and girls.
During Terms 2 and 3, competitive badminton is offered in addition to social badminton. Students in competitive badminton are required to practice once per week as well as compete in one match per week, usually held on Tuesday or Thursday in the St Paul’s Sports Centre.
Competition
Usually, one or two boys’ and girls' teams and one girls’ team compete in the Waikato Secondary Schools' Competition as part of competitive badminton.
Levies
The levy for competitive badminton, it is $50. Possible additional fees for coaching, qualifying and national tournament (including travel and accommodation costs) are disbursed to students' accounts accordingly.
