Nine medals for St Paul’s at the NZSS Swimming Championships

St Paul’s Collegiate School was proudly represented at the 2026 New Zealand Secondary Schools Swimming Championships, bringing home seven silver and two gold and seven silver medals.

Competing at a national level is no small feat, with swimming demanding countless hours of training, early mornings, and unwavering dedication. Every member of the team represented St Paul’s with pride, demonstrating resilience, commitment, and sportsmanship throughout the championships.

Leading the way was Charlie Alderton, who enjoyed an outstanding meet, collecting an impressive seven medals across the multi-class events. Charlie claimed gold in both the 100m Freestyle and 100m Breaststroke, while also earning silver in the 50m breaststroke, 50m butterfly, 50m backstroke, 50m freestyle, and 100m individual medley.

John Park also delivered an exceptional performance in the senior breaststroke events, securing silver in the 17–19 years 50m breaststroke, before adding a second silver in the 100m breaststroke.
