St Paul’s Collegiate School’s mixed doubles tennis team are ranked fifth in the New Zealand following their courageous effort at the 2017 National Secondary Schools Teams Tennis Finals in Auckland last week.
Sarah Jackson (Year 12), Carlin Vollebregt (Year 11), Simon Han (Year 11) and Lily Carr Paterson (Year 11) faced some tough competition throughout the tournament but managed to edge out Feilding High School for the fifth place ranking.
Coach Peter Gilbert is happy with the team’s “great accomplishment at a national level”.
The team earned their place at nationals following their win against Whakatane’s Trident High School.
