The 33rd Waitakere Licensing Trust Chess Open, a grand prix super class event, was held at the Lincoln Green Motor Hotel in Auckland from 5 to 7 June 2010. There were four, six round Swiss tournaments, A, B and C Division and a Junior tournament. Each tournament had a time control of 90 minutes each plus 30 seconds a move from the start of the game. St Paul’s Collegiate School HOD Mathematics, Gary Judkins, won 4 out of 6 games placing second equal in the B Division. Mr Judkins champions chess within the school and this result is a personal best, in this division, for him.
