Teachers who have specific concerns with the learning, behaviour, motivation, attitude, demeanour or health of individual students will, in the first instance, contact or make a referral to a student’s housemaster to share their concerns. Housemasters note the nature of their concerns, take action on the concern at a house level, contact parents as needed and/or refer the matter internally for specialised help.
This process is designed to ensure that:
1. Housemasters are central to pastoral care work
2. Referring teachers and parents are kept informed of actions taken
3. There is no duplication of support.
