We ask that every student comes to school prepared with what they need, as detailed below. If you or your child are unsure of any aspect of the start of the year then please contact the Housemaster or the main office for guidance. Students need to bring their PE gear, togs, towel, running shoes and device on the first day and each day this week.
Uniform for the week
- Monday 27 January (boarders arrival): number ones (formal uniform)
- Tuesday 28 January: First day of school for all new students (greys uniform)
- Wednesday 29 January: All students return (formal uniform)
- Thursday 30 January: (greys uniform)
- Friday 31 January: (formal uniform)
Drop-off points
Parents are asked to be considerate of other drivers when dropping students at school.
If using Hukanui Road entrance, drop students at the drop-off zone next to the Chapel. Parents are not to drive into the campus beyond the roundabout of the Chapel.
When leaving the school grounds, there is no right turn permitted during peak hours.
Students can alternatively be dropped off at either the Casper Street or St Paul’s Road gates and walk into the school grounds.
In addition, parents and students are not permitted to use the Casper Street entrance. Thank you to our families for your cooperation.

MONDAY 27 JANUARY
New boarding students arrive at their house at 3:30 pm in their number ones.
Parents of both day and boarding students are invited to attend a function and to be seated in the Chapel by 5:00 pm. Drinks and finger food will be available following the welcome in the Chapel.
TUESDAY 28 JANUARY (Orientation Day for all new students)
8:00 am – Students report to their House for roll call
8:30 am – Headmaster’s welcome (Chapel)
9:15 am – Students report to their House to begin an induction programme
10:30 am – Morning tea (Dining Hall)
11:00 am – Year 9 Continue with induction
11:35 am – Year 9 Academic introduction (Chapel)
11:45 am – Year 10-13 (new to school) Academic introduction (Chapel)
12:30 pm – Lunch (Dining Hall)
1:15 pm – Year 10-13 new students in Lander Centre
1:30 pm – Year 9 – Peer Support
2:00 pm – Female students swim
2:15 pm – New male students – haka introduction
2:30 pm – New female students – haka introduction
3:00 pm – Male students swim
3:30 pm – School day ends
7:00 pm – Returning boarders return in formal uniform
WEDNESDAY 29 JANUARY (entire school in attendance for the first day of teaching)
8:00 am – Students to report to their House for roll call
8:45 am – Poowhiri and Chapel Service. Parents are welcome to attend
10:30 am – Interval
11:00 am – Orientation continues
3:30 pm – End of school day
