News of our senior students successfully achieving university scholarships has been trickling in these past few weeks. We are proud to have had 41 scholarships awarded across 25 students – the most we have ever received.
Notably Matthew Jayasuria was offered six scholarships. These included Otago Leaders of Tomorrow, Victoria Excellence, PWC, Auckland University Top Achievers, Massey Business Future Leaders and Massey Vice Chancellor’s High Achiever. Matthew has accepted the Top Achievers scholarship at Auckland University and is planning to study a Bachelor of Commerce.
“Auckland University is closer to home and I like the fact that it has a Triple Crown accreditation for business.
“St Paul’s helped me greatly in my application process, by not only telling me when the scholarship applications close, but also by writing me a stunning reference letter – which I am sure helped me to stand out against other applicants.”
Kathy Hastie and Jess Hood were both awarded three scholarships each. For Kathy, it was the Te Paewai o te Rangi: University of Waikato Scholarship for Outstanding Academic Achievement, Victoria Excellence and Auckland University Top Achievers. Kathy is going to pursue a Bachelor of Engineering at the University of Auckland. And for Jess, it was the Te Paewai o te Rangi Scholarship, AUT Vice Chancellor’s Significant Student and Victoria Excellence.
Aidan Phillips and Kate Littlejohn are headed to the University of Waikato as Sir Edmund Hillary scholars, a prestigious programme which will enable them to pursue their cultural and sporting passions alongside their studies.
