School Nurse

Located in St Paul's Collegiate School Hamilton

St Paul’s Collegiate School is one of New Zealand’s premier independent day and boarding schools. With a growing roll of 880 students, we provide a learning environment that fosters academic excellence, character development, and meaningful contributions beyond our school gates.

This is an exciting time to join our school. At the start of this year, we welcomed our first cohort of junior girls in Year 9. In 2027, this group will progress into Year 10, resulting in a fully co-educational school offering from Year 9 to Year 13.

We are seeking a compassionate, professional and well-organised School Nurse to join our well-established team in a permanent, full-time role. This is a salaried position working during school term time only, with pay annualised across the full year.

Working as part of a rostered team, this role is ideally Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day, with shifts scheduled between 7.30 am and 4.30 pm. We may also consider applicants seeking a four-day-per-week arrangement.

The School Nurse plays a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing needs of both our day and boarding students. This is a fast-paced and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will work as part of a supportive Health Centre team, which includes our School Nurse Lead, Student Receptionist, Counsellors, Physiotherapist and regular Visiting Doctor. And be based in our purpose-built Health Clinic, located in the school's newst building - The Hive

The successful candidate will be a New Zealand Registered Nurse with a current practising certificate. You will bring excellent interpersonal and communication skills, empathy, professionalism, discretion and strong organisational abilities. Experience or a genuine interest in working with young people is essential, along with a calm, practical and compassionate approach to frontline health care.

Working at St Paul’s offers a supportive, collegial environment where staff are valued and encouraged to contribute to the wider life of our school. Staff benefits include daily cooked lunches, onsite parking, and support for ongoing professional development.

If you are a caring and capable registered nurse who enjoys working with young people and being part of a busy, people-focused team, we would love to hear from you.
