23 October 2026

On Friday 23 October, St Paul’s Collegiate School announced the 2027 Prefects.

Congratulations to the following students on their appointments. We wish them all the best as they step into their leadership roles next year.

Meet our 2027 Head Prefects:

Head Boy Citation: Troy Poole

It is with immense pride that we announce the appointment of Troy Poole as Head Boy for 2027. Since joining Fitchett House as a Year 9 day boy in 2023, Troy has consistently embodied the spirit and core values of St Paul’s. His journey through the school has been defined not only by exceptional personal achievements across every sphere of school life, but also by a genuine, heartfelt dedication to the
well-being of those around him. Academically, Troy represents the highest standard of intellectual rigor and critical thinking. Recognised as an independent thinker with a refreshing intellectual confidence, Troy regularly engages with complex, layered concepts. A Scholastic Centurion across English Literature, History, Economics, and Science, Troy achieved an Outstanding Scholarship pass in History while still in Year 11, earned High Distinction in the nationwide New Zealand Economics Competition, and has continually pushed himself by sitting Level 3 external assessments and Scholarship exams well ahead of his Year level. His relentless pursuit of excellence has seen him achieve the St Paul’s Award for Year 9, Year 11, and Year 12, alongside the John Oehley Cup for Excellence in all Areas of School Life.

Yet, true leadership is measured by character, and Troy’s contributions to the wider life of the school extend far beyond the classroom. A talented performer and competitor, he has contributed dynamically to school culture through Debating, the Concert Band, the Big Band, and the Ethics Olympiad, alongside representing the school in Hockey, Rugby, Football, and Athletics. Beyond his achievements, it is Troy’s personal character that truly sets him apart. Described by staff and peers as passionate, caring, and courageously vulnerable, Troy’s commitment to service is evident in his role as a Peer Support Leader, his involvement with the Over the Fence Ministry, his volunteering with refugee and migrant youth, and his recognition as the recipient of the prestigious 2026 Altrusa Youth Award. His Housemaster notes his outstanding dedication to Fitchett House and his innate desire to make everyone around him feel valued. Troy leads with a simple yet profound philosophy: to have the courage to do the right thing and to ensure that every single student at St Paul’s feels a true sense of belonging.

Head Girl Citation: Emma-Lee Rota

It is an absolute honour to announce Emma-Lee Rota as Head Girl of St Paul’s for 2027. Emma-Lee is a proud Cook-Island Maaori who knows and honours her whakapapa on a daily basis.
