St Paul’s won the toss and elected to bat. The boys batted well against their older and bigger opponents, scoring 144 for 7 off their 40 overs. Jamie Sandford top scored with 43, and Edward Sclater looked impressive scoring 37. In the field, good bowling was not supported by the catching. St Paul’s drop too many catches to be a realistic chance of winning the game. The Boys High batsman saw off the new ball and then comfortable chased down the total, only losing 2 wickets. Jarred Mealings was impressive with the ball, only contending 13 runs off the 6 overs he bowled.
