Te Kuiti caught us a little unawares, scoring two quick goals in the first 5 minutes. We rallied and although we gave ‘as good as we got’ in field play they were able to score a third goal before half time.
What was pleasing to see is that even under pressure we held our structure and the game itself was a good game to watch, moving from end to end with both sides playing some attractive hockey. Te Kuiti were able to score twice more in the second half and we scored once through Sarah Collinson-Smith.
Although we lost 5 – 1, the game was a lot closer than the score would suggest and the girls can take a lot of satisfaction from the progress made this season!
