St Paul's came into the match expecting a win, as in the preseason we confidently beat St John's 3-1. However from the start it was evident that the home team wanted it more and ten minutes in, after relentless pressure upon the defence, a cheap shot from afar sailed over Aditya’s head to make the score 1-0 at half time. After a rile up from Groomski, the team tried to bounce back and take the game by the reigns however our efforts provided fruitless as another long shot made the score 2-0 ten minutes to go. Straight from the kick-off Luke Goodwin with a joint effort from Reed Fisher scored a quick goal. 2-1 with ten minutes to go, the team was fired up to not go down easily. However ten minutes of attack upon attack and a disallowed goal, saw the final disappointing score of 2-1 to St John's. This game was the second in our National qualification games.
