The 1st XV completed a confidence-boosting result against a resolute and resilient St John’s team. Captain Dan Goodwin was back after a 3 week lay-off for injury and his presence empowered the team.
St Paul’s were clearly the best team and their passing and possession-based game eventually made the difference. Jacob Robb and Luke Goodwin scored the goals that secured the victory. With a top ten finish at the nationals the team’s objective, this was an important step in that direction. Teal Temboonsak made a valuable contribution coming off the bench and playing with real purpose and energy.
