Melville 242/10 (JB Broomfield 4/38, S Achary 3/45, CH Harper 2/42)
In reply, St Paul's gave a worthy chase of the daunting run rate. Openers Neelay Mistry and Ollie O’Meeghan started us off well setting us a platform to build from. The top-order produced a series of solid partnerships with Ollie O’Meeghan (38), Kuwyn Price (46), Jack Sturm (59), and Sam Lints (27). With wickets falling and the run rate increasing Cooper Robinson, Shiv Achary and Will Potter all chipped in with double-figure scores made in quick time. In the final over with our last batters in, we needed 5 to win off the last 3 balls. It was then for Jae Broomfield to score his first runs for the 1st XI with a crucial four to tie the game. With the last wicket falling the game finished as a tie, a fair result for a fine contest. This was a great team performance against Melville who were unbeaten and top of the table.
