The 1st XV suffered a heart breaking 30-27 loss on Saturday. With a new look side, especially in the forwards we got off to the worst possible start conceding an early try. After this setback we got more and more into the game, culminating with Tao Savou dotting down. At half time, we led 15-8. Two quick tries after half time to Luke Donaldson and Connor Downey saw us race to a comfortable 27-11 lead. However, with only 15mins to play Feilding kicked into another gear and we struggled to contain their big ball runners. Feilding crossed the line twice to take the score to 27-23 in our favour. After scoring their second try there was only 2min left but from the kick off Feilding took the ball and launched wave after wave of attack. The pressure eventually told and after a ruck made its way into our dead ball area, the referee awarded a try to Feilding after consulting with his linesmen. It was a disappointing way to end the season but the team should be proud of the way it fought considering we were missing a considerable number of frontline players through injury.
