The 1st XV had a tough encounter against an unsurprisingly strong Hamilton Boys side. Hamilton Boys dominated possession and territory and we rarely were able to produce any meaningful attacks. Despite the over whelming possession that they enjoyed, they were only able to cross our line once, mid-way through the second half. The boys defending superbly and there was no shortage of guts and determination. In the second half the wind picked up favouring Boys High and the bounce of the ball went their way. They were however, deserved winners 19-6, with Ferg Burke kicking two excellent penalties. The boys can take a lot of heart from the way they defended and were a credit to the school.
