St Paul's travelled to Te Awamutu with only 16 fit players. The team struggled early on as the local team dominated territory and possession. St Paul's ware caught ball watching at times. Gradually St Paul’s came back into the game and three excellent tries to Sam Ogilvy saw the half time score 17 – 7. St Paul's played more controlled rugby in the second half, scoring two more tries. Te Awamutu scored in the last play of the game.
