Which character do you play?
Emmett Forrest.
In a sentence or two, sum up who your character is in the context of the story:
One of Harvard’s top law students from a difficult background. Achieving Callahan’s internship, he now acts as a teacher’s assistant in the hope to gain associate. He takes an early interest in Elle (main character), and remains interested throughout the story, giving her advice and tutoring help.
What do you like most about playing this character?
Emmett is the typical nice guy who tries his hardest to help everyone he can. I really enjoy playing Emmett as I feel as if he is someone everybody strives to be like and is generally very well liked.
Have there been any challenges taking on this role?
One of my greatest challenges is that this is my first show here St Paul’s and also my first musical I have performed in.
Without giving away too much, what are you most excited for the audience to see?
I am most excited for the audience to see the courtroom scene.
Is this your first stage show/musical or have you performed before?
I have performed in shows before my time at St Paul’s such as Kings in Year 8, but this is my first show here.
If you could star in any other musical, what would it be?
If I could star in any musical, it would have to be Pippin.
Who do you look up to (as an actor/singer/performer)?
Mr Carpenter has really encouraged me to come out and give everything I have to give towards the role and improving my own abilities.
Is there anything additional you would like to share about your experience so far being involved in this year’s school production?
I decided to be involved in this year’s production after being part of the backstage crew last year. I knew I would be better on stage after being caught in the spotlight many times during numerous set changes.
