St Pauls travelled the short trip to the fields of boys high to play a fierce encounter on a rainy Saturday morning. On paper, the game was nothing more than a grading game, but to every player on both teams, it meant much more than just another game.
The first half consisted of both teams getting their fair share of chances with St Paul's converting one to go in to the break leading 1-0 due to some Johnny magic as he chipped the helpless boys high keeper.
The cliché of a game of two halves could not have been defined any clearer as boys high came out firing while St Paul's instantly withdrew on to the back foot giving boys high the room and space that resulted in two quick goals.
Final score 2-1. The game will help the team in seeing what needs work on as they go in to national qualifiers over the next two weeks.
