On the morning of the 2/08/14 the XI football girls trudged onto the pitch to face a formidable Te Awamutu high school XI Girls football team. Te Awamutu broke our line of defence for a succession of 2 quick goals but the girls retaliated with a goal from Georgia Burke towards the middle of the first half. The score was 3-1 at half time, and in the second half Te Awamutu proceeded to score another goal. The girls remained resilient thereby resulting in 2 goals from Claudia Miles which were expertly setup by Georgia Burke. Final score was 4-3 to Te Awamutu. Player of the day was lead scorer Claudia Miles for her two sensational goals – both of which are testament to the saying “at the right place at the right time”.
