Yesterday the 1st XI played their second game in 4 days when they played a catch-up game with Hillcrest. The 4-0 win was a welcome three points and moved the team up to a prominent position in the local competition. It was good for the boys to have their first game in a long time that did not have the pressure of National qualification as part of the proceedings. John Penyas scored a hat-trick and Waikato Ball signed off with a goal before his trial with the Wellington Phoenix next week. With National qualification assured, this was a pleasing and positive way to end the term.
