Both teams started tentatively with a number of passing errors dominating the first ten minutes. Hamilton Boys High School scored goal first through defending players failing to keep with their man. However, the 1st XI came back strongly with Daniel Scanlon scoring two outstanding goals.

In the second half St Paul’s continued to attack the opposition goal, unfortunately they failed to put the ball into the goal. Hamilton Boys High School took their opportunities from their three strokes to score two goals.
The 1st XI team were bitterly disappointed in the result, after they had dominated the game. Some unusual Refereeing decisions took control of the game which negated St Paul’s dominance, and created opportunities for the opposition.
First XI will now focus on the Midlands Competition which starts this week against Waiuku High School in Pukekohe at 6.15pm.
