On Saturday, the 1st XI played the 4th game of 6 in their bid to qualify for National Tournament. Up against old foes, Hamilton Boys High, we fired out of the blocks first with an early goal thanks to the boot of Luke Goodwin. Two soft goals against St Paul’s saw Hamilton Boys High creep back in to the game as we went in to the half 2-1 down. Coach Groom kept our dreams alive with yet another inspirational talk at half-time, but it wasn’t enough as Hamilton Boys continued to fight and were rewarded with 3 quick goals within a 10 minute spell effectively ending the game at 5-1.
Next game is against Rotorua Boys High on Thursday at 3:30 at St Paul’s. Any support would be appreciated as this is a must win to qualify for tournament.
