St Paul's struggled against a much larger team that had pace and skill to burn. Tauranga had two tries on the board inside the first 5 minutes. St Paul’s rallied with some strong driving play by the forwards, however poor ball retention saw Tauranga score 4 more tries. St Paul's scored one in reply to Jarrod Mealings – half time score 38 – 5.
St Paul's continued to battle hard in the second half. It was deserving that Jeevan Singh scored our second try. He was the hardest working player, making numerous tackles and carries of the ball.
The team can hold their heads up as the played with determination and attitude.
