The girls got off to a poor start, allowing Matamata to settle on the ball and start their passing games with the visitors deserving to go 2-0 up. The girls dug deep and had the better of the 30 minutes leading up to half time. However, after playing 4 games in 2 weeks the girls could not sustain the tempo required in the second half and let in a couple of good goals. The Matamata keeper played well to deny both Eliza and Georgia with fine saves.
