The bounce brothers headed over the hill to face an opposition that would never be an easy beat. The Tauranga 1st team was a physically strong team that was on a 5 win streak; however we never let that get the best of us. In the first half, we were constantly under pressure in defence with one quick goal five minutes in being the first blow and another 20 minutes later to make the scores 2-0 at half time to Tauranga Boys'. Playing down the other end felt much easier and we quickly started to dominate the game, with the ball barely ever making it into our own half. Some brilliant play by Matthew Collier from the back saw a ball to Luke Goodwin where he was pulled down in the box and a penalty was awarded, which was classily slotted in by Waikato Ball to make the scores 2-1. Ten minutes to go, the lads were pumped to at least finish off on a draw, however a cracking goal from Waikato that was disallowed by the linesman made it seem like it just wouldn’t be our day. One header from the Tauranga Boys' striker took the game from our grasps to make the game 3-1 to Tauranga Boys' at full time.
