Our second game together showed a marked improvement in our performance. The combinations were more evident, effort and energy were maintained and the end result was very satisfying.
HGHS put us under pressure but our defense adapted and worked hard. HGHS were able to dominate and scored three goals in the first half. We had a few forays into their circle but were unable to score.
The second half saw us more settled and our structure maintained. We were able to keep HGHS out and we scored through Zoe Lapwood off a coolly worked penalty corner.
Although a 3 – 1 loss, St Paul’s have made good progress in just over a week and we look forward to a good season with anticipation!
Player of the day: Josie Wilson (stand-in goalie).
