St Paul's took a while to warm to the task and Gisborne Boys' High took advantage of this dominating territory and scoring the first try. Gisborne pressured for most of the first twenty minutes and determined defense stopped them from scoring.
A better forward display saw St Paul's get more go forward ball and two tries were scored by Nick Hansen and Hunter Johnson. The game sea sawed through the second half until Hunter scored a counter attacking try in the last seconds of the game, winning the game 20 -15.
The forwards were well led by George Daer and he was supported with good performances from Jock Yarndley, Sam Porritt, Sarg Singh, Marcus Hamilton and Judd Redmond. It was an excellent team effort.
