As per our last match against Hillcrest, we again camped in their half of the field but were far more successful in converting our opportunities. We took a little while to settle after the holiday break and scored through Meg Morbey in the 5th minute.
Eight more goals were scored – one each through Toni Anda and Renee Saunders and six through Phoebe Boyes in the remainder of the half. What was pleasing was that the players worked the ball around opposition players, running very good lines. We were also more successful with our penalty corners! 9 – 1 at the break.
Hillcrest tightened up their structure and we experimented a little with our subbing, but the girls continued to work well scoring a further three unanswered goals through Toni, Katherine Keddell and Amanda Barr. A final score of 12 – 1, our best score this season!
