This was to be our last game of the term and our eighth match in the last four or so weeks. We were keen to do well but were down on numbers through illness. Three regular second team players were drafted in and performed very well. We took a while to settle with new combinations and a number of players in new positions. Right towards the end of the first half one felt that our team had started to gel and we scored through Phoebe Boyes in the last minute of the half. 1 – 0 up at the break.
We came out more determined in the second half and the communication improved too, as the players settled in to the differing combinations. Sarah Collinson-Smith scored in the 4th minute, Meg Morbey in the 12th and Zoe in the 16th to give us a final score of 4 – 0. Every player is to be commended on their commitment and effort in achieving a very satisfying win!
