St Paul’s started off well looking more like the team of two weeks ago. We played Fraser in the first round and the game was fairly close – this time we wanted to be more assertive. We scored through Kendal Buchanan in the 5th minute and Zoe Lapwood converted a penalty corner 2 minutes later. We maintained the pressure with combinations continuing to improve, players looking for offloads and running into space well. Two more goals in the first half (Laura McKenna and Toni Anda) saw us go into the break 4 – 0 up.
The second half saw us maintain pressure and although Fraser were stronger on defense, we scored a field goal through Toni, and Amanda Barr and Zoe both converted penalty corners to give us a 7 – 0 final score. Individual players performed well, with Meg Morby turning in one of her best performances and Phoebe Boyes earning ‘Player of the Day’ on the left wing.
Player of the day: Phoebe Boyes
