Our semi-final against Te Awamutu lived up to be exactly what we expected - a tough, close game.
Te Awamutu scored a try halfway through the first half after a loose ball was kicked through from broken play. They converted the try.
We then scored a brilliant try in the corner by Ryker Yearbury after a chip through by AJ Thomas. We could not convert from the touchline. Half time score 7- to Te Awamutu.
In the second half we started well with Sam Pepper scoring a brilliant try after picking up from the base of the scrum and running 40 metres. Unfortunately we could not convert. Michael Robinson then took a great penalty for us to lead 13-7.
Te Awamutu would not give up and came back to score another converted try. Then they had the lead 14-13.
We gave all we had left in the tank in the last 5 minutes, but could not score again.
