The boys started on the back foot very early in the game, with the rain dominating both teams. After some handling errors and sloppy defence, St Paul’s let in two soft tries which went unanswered in what was a poor first half. An increase in intensity in the second half saw St Paul’s secure a quality try to Temple Beauchamp, but a lack of execution let the team down throughout the second half. Overall, the team’s wairua was not enough to stop what was a well-structured and physical Hamilton Boys side.
