St John's came to play and provided a stern challenge to St Paul's – especially in the first half.
St Paul's had beaten them 10-0 earlier in the year. They attacked from the kick off and put St Paul's forwards under pressure using their big boys to run the ball and forcing St Paul's to defend for long periods.
Half time score was 5-5.
St Paul's regrouped at half time. The coaches emphasised playing to our strengths and raising the intensity. A much improved second half saw St Paul's score 4 unanswered tries to win 27-5.
