On Saturday the U14 team travelled to Taumarunui to play.
St Paul's were surprised by the determination of the opposition. They tackled well, knocking St Paul's players over and attacked the rucks and mauls with enthusiasm. This caused St Paul's into errors. The half time score was 7 – 5.
St Paul's played much better in the second half. Ferg kicked intelligently keeping Taumarunui in their half. The forwards and backs combined effectively to score 3 tries to the oppositions 1. Final score 31 – 10
Tries were scored by Ryan Ballantyne (2) Luke Bryant and Jock Yarndley while Ferg Burke kicked 1 penalty and converted all four tries.
