The U55 Black team had a tough encounter with Hamilton Boys. It was definitely a game of two contrasting halves. St Paul’s struggled to get much possession in the first half and when they did, were too slow to the break downs, allowing HBHS to win the ball. However St Paul’s defended strongly letting in only three tries. The second half was a completely different story. Great attacking play and ball retention saw St Paul’s dominate in all areas. Three excellent tries were scored and converted, the last close to full time to secure a 21-15 win. Tries were scored by Matthew Johnson, Toby Grindlay and Nico Mitchell with Jahan Singh kicking three conversions.
