St Paul’s U55 Black played three games on Saturday as part of the grading round.
In the first game the team played HBHS 2 which was their top year 10 team. St Paul’s held their own in the first half defending with determination. Unfortunately the boys could not maintain this intensity and HBHS scored 5 tries. The second game against Cambridge was called off after 5 minutes as Hamish Joyes sustained a back injury and the ambulance had to be called. Fortunately he is OK. The final game saw the team face a rather large St Peter's team. St Paul’s played their best rugby, particularly in the second half. 4 tries were conceded in the first half but only 1 was scored in the second spell. It was a tough day at the office but from now on we will play against teams of similar ability.
