St Paul's started strongly with a try to Tom Watson and led 5-0 at half time. In the second half, it was St John’s that scored, going out to a 5-7 lead, before Aidan O’Connor kicked a penalty to give us the narrowest of margins going into the final ten minutes. Unfortunately, we conceded a penalty in the final minute to lose 8-10. Our backs were more enterprising, but we struggled to cope with the counter kicking of St John’s in what proved a great hit out prior to the season proper.
