While the final score, a solid win to Dio, would suggest otherwise, the girls played really well, particularly in the first 20 minutes when they defended the Dio girls relentless attack and capitalised on their advantage through a brilliantly executed attack from Emanae Ferguson capped off by a goal to Maddie Tims to take a 1-0 lead. Dio replied soon after and St Paul's was unable to get the upper hand again, but continued to play good hockey, and were rewarded with a second half goal through Maddie and Emanae combining for Emanae to score. Tyler Steer on defence and Genevieve Scott-Jones in goal worked tirelessly throughout the game and were awarded joint player of the day.
