The afternoon was always going to be a struggle with tired bodies and legs. Again, the rain came down as soon as we kicked off. We played much better than I had expected, but a NZ rep in the Hastings Girls' team managed to get through our defences twice in quick succession. We were 2-0 down at half time. Early in the second half we had numerous opportunities to score, with several one-on-one scenarios with the goalie. She had some kind if magnetic force however, as all of our shots went straight into her hands. The final score was 4-0, but could easily have been closer. The girls fought hard the whole time, and never gave up.
