Having beaten St Peter’s previously we knew we could do it again, but were also conscious that anything can happen come semi-finals. Both sides played hard with only a few scoring opportunities for both teams. We eventually scored through Maddy Tims converting a PC in the 23rd minute to go to the break 1 – 0 up.
We started well in the second half scoring, again through Maddy, in the 3rd minute. St Peter’s converted a PC in the 6th minute and although we had scoring chances were not able to score again. St Peter’s equalized in the 20th minute and the last 10 minutes remained score free.
A 2 all full time score meant we had to go to strokes. A nervous time for all! We converted all 5 with St Peter’s missing their third. This gave us the win 7 – 5!
Great preparation for tournament and progress to our inter-city pool final! (With further progress to division semis to follow.)
Well done to the girls, who will play Aquinas in the pool final next week.
