St Paul’s 1st XI controlled the game but were unable to get the ball into the back of Wanganui goal. A number of errors occurred on attack in the opposition circle which nullified St Paul’s to score goals until half way through the first half. St Paul’s attack did improve and at the end the first half the score was 5 – nil.
In the second half the St Paul’s put together some good passing. However the opposition goal keeper again stopped too many St Paul’s attacks into the circle and shots on goal.
The management were pleased with some passing aspects outside of the opposition’s circle, but disappointed in the decision making, stroke selection, field placement and communication amongst their strikers.
