A tough game in wet conditions saw a goalless first half. With only one player on the bench we knew we would have to work hard in the second half. HGHS scored in the seventh minute of the second half and although we had some close chances they were able to score again in the eleventh minute. We threw everything we had at them, committed to trying to catch up, but in doing so left ourselves a little vulnerable in defence. Girl’s High were able to score three more goals in the remaining few minutes of the game. The scoreline is not a true reflection of the way an exciting game played out. Such is the competitive nature of the Waikato girl’s A-division this season that we still find ourselves ahead of HGHS, but behind Sacred Heart who we beat last week.
