The game was an even contest although we had most of the possession in the first half. Our forwards had to work really hard to maintain possession and the improvement in body position from the week before was pleasing to see.
Boys High scored first but we soon answered with a try from Harry Smith. The try was converted by Reid Elkington.
At half time we lead 7-5.
In the second half we had to defend for long periods of time. We managed to hold up Boys High on our line a few times or bundle them into touch. The boys showed real pride in defending their line.
Harry Smith made a break in the midfield and ran all the way from his own 22m to score under the posts. Reid converted and we won 14-5.
This week we will focus on the breakdown, running out of depth and defensive patterns.
