Duty Chef

Located in St Paul's Collegiate School Hamilton

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Chef to join the Kitchen team at our school. We operate a high-volume kitchen operation, providing up to 1400 meals per day, as well as catering for internal and external functions and events.

This hands-on role will require you to prepare and serve Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner for our students and staff. On certain shifts, you will be responsible for running the kitchen, leading a small team - so we’re looking for someone who is flexible, a team player and who is able to motivate others.

Our ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, have formal qualifications (or equivalent experience), and an interest in continuing to develop and grow their cooking skills and kitchen administration skills too.

This is a fixed term position to provide cover for a staff member on extended leave for six months. The role is 40 hours per week, during both term time and school holidays (when we host a variety of onsite camps). The days and hours that you work will be determined by a seven-day roster that will include a variety of weekend, evening and daytime work.
